HOME GONE

I look at my mother
The beauty she once was
The treasures she one had
I see her cry as her children die
Her government blames everyone
Apart from itself.

I look at my country
The land I was born
The only home I know
I see her torn apart
By politics and tribalism
That suck her dry
I look at Kenya
The nation she was
The enchantment she once held
I see her in shambles
From endless blows
And falling fire
I look at africa
Where her sisters fell
From grace to ashes
Their children scattered
And lands left to vultures
I fear this is our fate
